Stiff Chunk #1

In the first five pages of Mary Roach's Stiff, gives out explanations of certain feelings and the backround of cadavers and surgeons that use these cadavers. She says that cadavers have been used for the past 2000 years of those poeple who were murderers or donated their bodies to science, she also gives otu examples on how the surgeons feel or treat there cadavers. they try to treat the cadavers with respect and how the get of as seeing them as human bodies to more as object. There was a time were there were a large amount of surgeons and not enough cadavers to go around. the " scientist" explain of many ways they can get them and how there were despret people digging out graves of other peoples families and getting the cadaver.. This book is creepy but it is a interesting book that gives u an image of what some poeple do as there careers and how they might react diffrently from others like you or me. So far i have read 2 chapters of the book and so far it is an easy book to read.

  1. Hi Mario- this is Ms. G. So far, I like what you have done to your blog, but I wanted to offer you a few pointers. If I were you, I would re-read the precis sample on the Goldenrod paper so that your next precis can be more academic and in-depth--but you are off to a good start. Where are your questions that members of your team will respond to? They should be questions that provoke discussion (for example... why does Mary take pains to make distinctions between a cadaver and a body?). IF you need help, email me or visit my blog url to see examples of blogs from last years AP students.
